Donating half a business’s profits to charity.

Before seeing the Muppets movie last night (good fun) in Berkeley, we stopped by this old corner cafe on College Ave. Picked up their business card which I later read, which noted a core principle of their business to donate 50% of profit to non-profit projects (detailed on their website). Very cool example of how for-profit businesses can commit to support non-profit causes in local and global communities. How does this provoke us to think about: how much profit and for whom? Can other businesses replicate this model?
